OC Guide Dogs is one of many Guide Dogs for the Blind alumni chapters in the United States. OC Guide Dogs is a small group of local handlers. Most of us have dogs from GDB, but there are a few handlers from other schools who also are part of our group.
Our mission is to support, inform, and promote the use of Guide Dogs. We also provide fellowship, advocate for one another, and promote the mission of GDB.
We hold five meetings a year and several outings to local recreational and educational locations in the area.
GDB wants its chapters to be self-supporting. Funds raised by GDB specifically support puppy breeding, puppy raising, guide dog training, student training, field support, and when necessary, medical support for working dogs.
If you wish to support the mission, you can either support our local chapter as OC Guide Dogs, or support the main organization, GDB.
The following link allows you to contribute directly to OC Guide Dogs using a credit card. Money donated to this link goes directly in our chapter account and pays for local activities. When we have a significant surplus, we transfer that money directly back to GDB. Thank you for your support.
